STM-800 professional tape recorder

 

The different versions meet highest professional audio requirements. Tape
recorder STM-800 is designed for top quality master recording and
reproduction in radio and television studios as well as in the recording industry
and professional studios in general.
STM-800 is aviable in mono, stereo, two-track or time-code two-track
configuration.

The casting based massive contruction is capable of long operation. The
modular construction and the easy access of the tape transport mechanics
and of the electronics ensure easy and fast maintenance and service.
High torque DC spooling motors enable a quick and precise tape transport.
The electronical system provides a correct tape tension control, fast rises,
accurate tape speed and a perfect compensation of the irregularities of the
reels. The main motor is a brushless DC motor with electronic commutation.
The newly developed control signal system offers a very good tape running
stability. Changing the tape speed only a short changeover time is needed
to reach the nominal speed with low speed deviation.

To help easy operation, the keyboard and the displays are logically grouped.
The mode-register allows programming of different operation modes. A
built-in error indicator system ensures the instant indication and localization
of the errors. The rotating disc helps the fast and simple adjusting and
controlling. By means of the disk tape spooling with changeable direction
and speed and tape moving can be accomplished. The audio-frequency
adjusting controls are easy to acess from the front side. The tape working
point can be adjusted previously at both tape speeds for four tape types,
respectively. The full remote-control possibility contributes to the high
quality of studio work.
Both the tape transport and the audio-frequency units are microcomputer
controlled. Besides the traditional recording technologies, the users are
provided the latest achieve - ments of analogue audio technics by means
of autolocator, varispeed channel-control and many operating conveniences.
The tape recorder can be installed in track, in transporting case or in consol.
The same equipment without any change can be used as a table model.
Rubber legs ensure the stable placing both in vertical and in horizontal
position. The tape recorder is portable, that is ensured besides the light
weight by the handles on the side walls. The consol for the STM-800 is
movable on wheels that can be braked. The height of the consol can be
adjustable or fixed and the angle is variable.
